This is my complaint in regards to my favorite shoes from Florsheim .... it is just very upsetting to see what happened to the shoes!!!

I could not believe the heel fell off in chunks, and the toe is also falling away from the bottom of the shoe. The one shoe is still ok, but I am sure the same thing is going to happen with that one too. I can't imagine a company as well known as Florsheim would produce a shoe that actually is junk!!! I feel the company should stand behind their products and at least replace the shoes if they are making defective ones.

I am including a couple photos so you can see what I am talking about. I also have Florsheim Boots that have lasted for years, with no problem, so what is wrong with this favorite shoe that you are producing???? I love these shoes, as they are so comfortable. I would hope that your company will do something about this or I will just keep complaining until someone does.

Thank You for taking my complaint.

Will be looking to hear back from someone.... Artie Mentz 2199 Graham Circle, Dubuque, Iowa Graceland2199@***.com (email address)

I just had the same thing happen to my Florsheim shoes. I am not sure what model shoe it was, but, I think I had worn them only about 7 or 8 times.

I wore them on Saturday 08/24/19 and sure enough the soles and heels just started crumbling! The inside of the shoe and leather look brand new.

If you just saw that you would think they had just come out of the store, but if you saw the soles, you would think I had been walking across shark teeth covered in acid! I too will be writing Florsheim's to see if they will do anything about this!

After wearing a size 8 1/2 shoe for many decades, I now wear shoes sized anywhere from an 8 1/2 to a size 11 depending on the brand, country of origin or style. Shirts labeled Large now fit like my old size medium shirts.

Bottom line is there is little size consistency and the quality of shoes in particular is atrocious. Thus, your only recourse is to buy clothing and shoes when on clearance---not just a "sale"---but at the end of a season when stores want to clear out their inventory and mark items down considerably. That way you always have new cloths and shoes when the ones you are wearing go bad.

Same with kids clothes---buy cheap in advance for them to grow in to. Anyone paying full price or even a "sale" price for these things is foolish.

Same to my Florsheim comforter slip on shoes. The sole nearly wore out at a dinner party, and the shoe was only 3 years old and hardly used.

The material is a cheaper type that does not have longevity. Just last long enough pass the bring back refund time, POS...

Dont buy cheap shoes. Your older Florsheims held up for years, because they were made by craftsmen, in US shoe factories, with quality US materials.

However, the new Florsheim shoes are likely made in India, or China. They simply are not the same product. American consumers want mediocre products at the lowest cost. Shoe makers traded quality for low price, and you have the results: shoes that don't last.

Your solution is to buy quality USA made shoes, but be prepared for a little sticker shock. You cannot buy a U.S. made men's dress shoe for 100 bucks.

I can t wear cheap shoes, or I get fasciitis.

All my work shoes and boots are US Red Wings, and my dress shoes are from Alden and Rancourt. They are expensive, but wear for years. Other than that, your choices are to throw away your shoes every year, or shop thrift stores for gently worn, high quality shoes.

A friend of mine found a pair of Florsheim Imperial longwings in a thrift store, and paid less than 10 bucks for them. Cleaned, polished, and put to work.
